On Friday, September 28, 2012 Leslie Silket, founder of Nurse’s Children Foundation (NCF), met with JP Reed and Kaye Williams of the Pleasant Hill State Farm office to begin their committed partnership in supporting the education of students in need of financial assistance due to their parents passing while in the nursing profession. State Farm donated backpacks with school supplies to begin the launch of the newly formed NCF.
“We are dedicated to helping those in need and NCF is an organization that truly benefits children who may not be able to fulfill their academic dreams.”
— JP Reed, Agent/State Farm
NCF launches its organization in early December. They are designed to extend monetary educational assistance and collect funds through donations and other sources of gift giving. The objective is to provide college scholarships and stipends to support the academic career of these children in need. Nurse’s Children Foundation honors the RN’s who have passed away by dedicating financial assistance to support the future of their sons and daughters.
“As a nurse I have seen the loss of my colleagues and witnessed the financial need of their families whose children want to go on to college. NCF came to me as a blessing and we are thankful for State Farm’s support and that they understand this opportunity to support our cause and this partnership.”
— Leslie Silket, President/Nurse’s Children Foundation
About Nurse’s Children Foundation
NCF is a nonprofit organization committed to providing collegiate financial opportunities for children who have suffered the loss of a parent in the Registered Nursing (RN) profession. Our mission is to provide a legacy for these children, by dedicating monetary assistance to their academic careers. The death of an RN can potentially create a financial hardship for their family. We believe by contributing to the educational hopes and dreams of their sons and daughters, we remember and honor the lives of Registered Nurses who have died.
